Rolls-Royce's latest accessory caters to cigar connoisseurs.
If you've been looking for somewhere to store your whisky and cigars while entertaining guests, but also want them to know that your garage includes a Phantom or a Cullinan, Rolls-Royce now has a solution to this first-world problem. As part of the Connoisseur's Collection, Rolls-Royce has revealed a swanky new Cellarette whisky and cigar chest. And yes, it probably costs more than your car.
Made from polished aluminum and wrapped in Havana leather, the serving tray is covered in Obsidian Ayous Open Pore veneer with a Spirit of Ecstasy inlay. This makes the Cellarette the "perfect accessory for any Rolls-Royce owner with a passion for convivial hosting." The Cellarette can be stored in the back of any Rolls-Royce, but the luxury automaker emphasizes that it "comes into its own as a centerpiece at an al fresco dining experience, or as an accompaniment at an intimate gathering."
Opening up the chest emits a "warm ambient glow," illuminating the Armagnac leather accents "evoking the atmosphere of a distinguished Members' Club." An array of accessories are presented mechanically, opening like the coach doors of a Rolls-Royce car. When opened, handblown lowball whisky glasses with an "RR" monogram rotate outwards and an Armagnac leather-lined bottle pannier is revealed that can adapt to different bottle sizes. A polished aluminum fastener holds the bottle in place magnetically. For cigar connoisseurs, a humidor made of Spanish Cedarwood can hold cigars at a chosen humidity, which is monitored by a hygrometer with detailing inspired by the hands of the Rolls-Royce clock.
At either end of the cassette are two smaller containers, with one holding a cigar cutter and lighter engraved with the Spirit of Ecstasy Expression and another for an ashtray.
Naturally, the Cellarette can be extensively customized with unique specifications. Available to order at dealerships, the Rolls-Royce Cellarette starts at £40,570 ($55,306), which is small change if you can already afford the automaker's luxury limos.
"The Rolls-Royce Cellarette, the latest addition to the Rolls-Royce Connoisseur's Collection, offers our clients new ways to enhance their lifestyle beyond the experience of their Rolls-Royce motor car. Historically, Cellarettes were used to secure wine and spirits. This bespoke chest can be configured to stow aperitifs or digestifs, dependent on the client's preferences, alongside prized cigars, in a spectacular fashion."
