Crossovers are all the rage these days in the automotive industry. According to Autocar, Chevrolet's Korean arm is at work on turning the latest Aveo into a five-door, five-passenger crossover. I know, we also thought that we wouldn't have to hear about the Aveo again so soon, but that's how it is. It just started production in Seoul and will go on sale in 2011. It will reportedly sport a stretched platform and will be offered in both front-wheel and all-wheel drive.

Inside, the interior is clearly being borrowed from Opel, which ultimately translates to good things for this crossover. Another good thing to expect is the digital display in the dash, and we hear that it's so good that it's going to spread across the rest of the Chevy lineup. We've also learned that the four-door version of the new Aveo is slated to debut at the 2011 Detroit Auto Show in January. Maybe a crossover will be there too.
