Coupe, sedan and wagon will be joined by a convertible edition.
Having unveiled its 2015 C-Class at the Detroit Auto Show, Mercedes is moving on to faster and more powerful versions, namely its C63 AMG variant. We've already shown you the sedan out for testing in December, but now Autocar is reporting that the 4-door will soon be joined by a coupe, wagon and even convertible. Mercedes-Benz officials declined to comment on these rumors, but they've been pretty clear that a coupe should be expected in the next couple of years.
The upcoming C63 is set to be powered by a brand-new twin-turbo 4.0-liter V8. While we know that this engine will produce upwards of 450 horsepower, some rumors say it have it rated at as much as 493 hp. The C63 AMG sedan is likely to appear at the upcoming Geneva Motor Show next month, and we expect Mercedes to be dropping further hints regarding the rest of the family around that time. With the new BMW M3 sedan and M4 coupe already out and awaiting the M4 convertible, Mercedes should be hard at work on its own full-range offering.
