It's Russia. Don't ask questions.
Here was this Russian guy's problem: the shop was not licensed to sell alcohol that early in the morning, but he wanted some booze anyway. What to do? Take matters into his own hands. Reuters has reported that a guy stole an armored personnel carrier in the northern Russian town of Apatity, driving it down a narrow street, before smashing it into a convenience store window. He then got out of the carrier, climbed through and inspected the mess he made, and stole a bottle of wine. Of course he was already drunk.
Sources claim he stole the vehicle from "a privately-run motorsport training ground facility nearby." In order to get to the store, he had to drive the vehicle through a forest first. Once he made it to dry pavement, he also crushed a Daewoo car parked nearby.
The footage you see here was originally posted to social media. And because it's Russia, witnesses in the footage don't appear to be phased by the incident. "Basically some guy stole an armored vehicle…and went into a shop to top up his stocks in the morning," the social media user described, whilst filming the snow-covered scene out of his window. He was later arrested for stealing the bottle of wine. Nothing was said about armored personnel vehicle theft. Russia, you never cease to amaze us.
