To coincide with thousands of PlayStations and/or Gran Turismo 6 discs being unwrapped this Christmas morning, Mazda has unveiled its LM55 Gran Turismo Concept for the popular driving simulator. Celebrating the Group C Mazda 787 that won the 24 Hours of Le Mans in 1981, the concept is unashamedly futuristic in design, "blending agility with elegance" according to the carmaker.

Incorporating Mazda's Kodo design language, the front grille is an obvious interpretation of its signature front end, while its stance mimics that of the famed Le Mans racer. Using lightweight, carbon-fiber components and a monocoque chassis, finished in atmospheric-white paint, the LM55 Vision GT utilizes "advanced drive train technology" but Mazda has failed to reveal the specifics. After installing the holiday season update, you can purchase the LM55 via the Cars section of the Vision GT area or, for a limited time only, complete a lap in the new Seasonal Event.
