The return of the Chevy Blazer was a big deal when it was officially announced over a year ago. Unlike past Blazer SUVs, this new one does not feature a body-on-frame chassis. Instead, it shares a platform with the GMC Acadia and Cadillac XT5 crossovers. Did this decision hinder sales? Not at all. In 2019, its first year on sale, a total of 58,115 units were sold in the US. Although this figure was still far behind the Chevy Equinox (346,048) and Chevy Traverse (147,122), chances are it'll further improve in 2020.

However, there are still unsold 2019 Blazers parked on dealership lots throughout the country, specifically the popular sporty RS trim, and Chevy needs to do something about that. Right now, there's a generous price reduction on the 2019 Chevy Blazer RS with a total of $5,290 in potential savings.

A more precise discount breakdown is as follows: $2,290 price reduction below MSRP plus $2,000 customer cash. The remaining $1,000 is for GM Cardmembers only who have been members as of January 2, 2020. Bear in mind a Blazer RS can go as high as nearly $50,000 fully-loaded. The RS trim only begins at $40,500. Do the math and a 2019 Blazer RS can now be bought for around $35,210.

That's really not bad at all considering the Blazer RS comes powered by a naturally aspirated 3.6-liter V6 good for 308 horsepower and 270 lb-ft of torque. A nine-speed automatic sends power to either the front or all four wheels. Other cool features include 20-inch wheels, a blacked-out front grille, dual exhaust tips, and sportier steering and suspension.

For other well-qualified buyers, the 2019 Blazer lineup can be financed for 0 percent APR for 60 months (with the exception of the base L trim). These offers are good through March 2, 2020. Prefer a 2020 Blazer instead? No problem, but bear one thing in mind: this month's discount isn't nearly as good. There's only a $2,000 customer cash offer for all trims (save for the base L).
