We knew it was coming, and now Holden Special Vehicles has unveiled the GTS Maloo or what some are already calling the fastest truck ever built. Based on the HSV GTS sedan, the most powerful Australian-built production car ever, the GTS Maloo comes with a supercharged 6.2-liter LSA V8 rated at 580 horsepower and 546 lb-ft of torque mated to either a six-speed manual or six-speed auto transmission.

Performance stats have yet to be revealed, but with that powerplant, coupled to a sport-tuned suspension, high-performance brakes, limited slip differential and torque vectoring system, there's every chance you're looking at the fastest ute on the planet.

Offered in Some Like it Hot bronze/red and Jungle Green, the GTS Maloo sports a unique front fascia and DRLs, side skirts, 20-inch Blade forged alloys finished in Dark Stainless, a quad exhaust system, and a "twin-hump" remote-locking hard tonneau cover. The cabin is trimmed in Onyx leather or optional RedHot leather and comes with sports seats, a sport steering wheel, faux carbon-fiber trim and MyLink infotainment system. Limited to 250 units – 240 for Australia, 10 for New Zealand – first deliveries of the HSV GTS Maloo will begin in November.
