Having popped the top off the S63 at the Frankfurt Motor Show, Mercedes-AMG has gone one better with the reveal of the range-topping S65 Cabriolet. Packing the carmaker's ubiquitous twelve-cylinder powerplant, the S65 Cabrio is a four-seater convertible offering exquisite open-top luxury and effortless power delivery. The 6.0-liter twin-turbo V12 is rated at 621 hp and 738 lb-ft of torque, which translates to a 0-62 mph time of 4.1 seconds and top speed of 155 mph or 186 mph with the AMG Driver's Package.

Power is sent to the rear via a seven-speed automatic transmission, controlled by steering wheel-mounted paddle shifters. Differentiating itself from the S63, the S65 cabrio gets a new grille with mesh inserts, a new rear bumper with quad exhaust tips, unique 20-inch multi-spoke alloys, some extra chrome trim and a smattering of "V12 Biturbo" lettering. The multi-layered fabric acoustic soft top comes in black, dark blue, beige and dark red, and can be opened and closed at the touch of a button in 17 seconds up to speeds of 31 mph. Inside, occupants will be cocooned in nappa leather while enjoying the Burmetser 3D surround sound system and one of the most luxurious interiors on the market today.

Orders of the Mercedes-AMG S65 Cabrio will be taken from 4 April 2016, before hitting dealerships in May. Expect a price tag in the region of $250k.
