Now that Scuderia Cameron Glickenhaus is an official low-volume car manufacturer, production of the insane SCG003 hypercar is underway and will soon be delivered to customers in the US. Planning is already underway for its successor, which has been shown for the first time in a pair of teaser images. In a post on the company's Facebook page, SCG hinted that the next model will be "a very light sports car" with a carbon fiber body and chassis, and is requesting suggestions about potential features from the community.

Performance details are being kept under wraps, but SCG suggests that the unnamed sports car will pack a high-revving 650-hp engine connected to a gated six-speed manual transmission with a clutch pedal option. Glickenhaus also revealed that the engine will be turbocharged due to emissions, but tuned to feel like a naturally aspirated unit. While the SCG003 hypercar will set you back a whopping $2 million, its sports car successor will cost around $400,000 and weigh less than 2,500 pounds. SCG is also considering a three-seat layout which could be similar to the McLaren F1 and the upcoming BP23 Hyper-GT.

Like the SCG003, the car will be primarily designed for racing, so expect to see both road and track-only variants as well as a hybrid that lets you swap between both versions. For the race version, the car will be eligible to compete in GT3 and SPX like the SCG003. GTE, GT Le Mans and GT4-spec cars will also be considered on customer requests. Little of the sports car's design has been shown as development is still at an early stage, but Motor Authority notes that the car will be inspired by an old concept which SCG has the rights to replicate. Exactly which concept is is unknown, but SCG confirmed it won't be based on the 1970 Ferrari Modulo which Glickenhaus acquired from Pininfarina in 2014.
