This week marks the much-anticipated theatrical release of "Avengers: Infinity War." Considering Black Panther is now the tenth highest grossing film of all time, Marvel's latest action flick will no doubt be a smash hit at the box office. Automakers love to capitalize on the popularity of Marvel movies with some gratuitous product placement, and Infinity War will be no exception. To mark the film's release, Infiniti has teamed up with Marvel Studios for the launch of its new luxury mid-size crossover, the 2019 QX50.

In the run-up to the film's release on April 27, two versions of a new ad spot-called "Date Night"-will air on TV and online this week to promote the QX50. The mid-size crossover will also have a cameo in the Infinity War movie. "We couldn't be more excited about working with Infiniti for the first time," said Mindy Hamilton, Marvel's Senior Vice President of Global Partnerships and Marketing.

"Between their highly anticipated launch of the QX50 and our climactic release of 'Avengers: Infinity War,' we recognized a tremendous opportunity to share our mutual passions for risk-taking, adventure, excellence, and advancement with fans all around the country." Infiniti obviously wasn't going to miss the opportunity to advertise the QX50 in Infinity War when the names are so similar. It's like Nissan's marketing campaign for the Rogue in its marketing tie-up with "Rogue One: A Star Wars Story" all over again. At any rate, it sounds like the QX50's role in the film will be small, so don't expect to see it feature in any action scenes.

Marvel movies are becoming synonymous with car cameos. The Audi A8 made its cinematic debut in Spiderman Homecoming, while more recently the Lexus LC 500 was at the center of a hi-octane chase scene in Black Panther. The Hyundai Veloster will also see some action in Ant Man and the Wasp this summer.
