Cadillac's commitment to toppling the Germans in the saloon track car segment is no secret, and with the latest iteration of the CTS-V, the Germans may have a reason to be worried. Armed with the same engine as the Corvette Z06, the CTS-V makes 640 horsepower and can propel its occupants from 0-60 in 3.6 seconds all while containing them in a cocoon of luxury. The Cadillac is so good that Randy Pobst of Motor Trend likes it better than the Corvette. However, as gearheads know well, good numbers don't always equal a good car.

To get to the bottom of the argument, Motor Trend took the CTS-V to the Virginia City Hill Climb. Turn up the volume and enjoy the supercharged pushrod V8 sing.
