Dodge knows that nostalgia drives a certain amount of muscle car sales, and with the Challenger SRT8 392, they've put it right in the name. Dodge is not only telling us the engine displacement in cubic inches rather than liters (that's 6.4 liters, if you really must know) but they've also invoked the old 392 Hemi that was such a huge hit with drag racers in the 50's. The 392 was never put the Challenger until now, and this new one is excellent.

High compression versions of the old 392 came from the factory with 345 horsepower, but this is one area where Dodge has parted with nostalgia, giving us 470 horsepower for this new version. That means it's bound to do the quarter mile in less than even the 426 Hemi's 13.2 seconds. Dodge has also gone with a much more modern suspension setup, and the SRT8 392 can do 0.93 Gs in a corner. Your old '70 R/T couldn't corner like that.
