SEMA 2011: Heins Motorsports Mustang Boss 302RS

Heins Motorsports has debuted the Mustang Boss 302RS racecar at the 2011 SEMA Show in Las Vegas.

Heins Motorsports has just debuted their purpose-built Mustang Boss 302RS for NASA and SCCA racing at the SEMA Show in Las Vegas. Based on the Mustang Boss 302, the 302RS was designed to improve aerodynamics, save weight and minimize lift at high speeds (you know, all the normal tweaks are needed to compete on the track). They achieved their goals via the use of a Steeda Q-Series functional front fascia, hood and rear spoiler. A 3d carbon rear fascia also helps save even more weight.

On the interior, the racing-spec 'Stang is equipped with a bespoke lightweight carbon fiber dashboard and door panels, racing seats, racing steering wheel and a FIA-approved roll cage. Heins Motorsports has also designed the chassis to constantly keep contact with the ground, along with a suspension and braking system designed for the track. It sits on a set of Forgeline 18-inch wheels wrapped in Nitto NT01 tires. The guys at Heins haven't released any information yet in terms of engine output or performance, but we are sure that it will top the standard Ford Mustang Boss 302 5.0-liter V8's output.
