HATCI (Hyundai American Technical Center Inc.) has released the first photo of their Genesis Hurricane SC and announced that it will make its debut at the SEMA Show in November. The project consisted of taking the Hyundai Genesis and giving it Mustang-like credentials, powering it up with a supercharged 3.8-liter V6 engine. In addition to a liquid-to-air intercooler, amongst other tweaks, the coupe should produce well over 450hp.

Other features given to the Hurricane SC include a Bilstein suspension, Brembo brakes to handle the added power and a lightweight flywheel. The coupe received an aero package on the exterior and a Katzkin leather interior. It sits on a set of 19-inch Enkei wheels wrapped in Hankook tires. "The HATCI and Magnuson supercharger demonstrates the high-performance potential of Genesis Coupe's V-6 engine - the car was engineered to handle this kind of extra power. Our HATCI engineers have been working for years with Magnuson to ensure high engine output is available on future Hyundai vehicles," said HATCI senior engineer David Dutko.

That means good news for Hyundai lovers, as a new line of powered-up coupes and sedans could soon make their way to dealerships thanks to the South Korean's partnership with Magnuson. The Hyundai Genesis HATCI Hurricane SC will debut at the SEMA Show which runs from November 1st-4th.
