Seriously?! The Ford GT is Now a Decade Old

Anniversary

One of the greatest cars ever built first went on sale 10 years ago this summer.

To this day, Ford has yet to build a better supercar. In fact, it hasn’t built another supercar ever since production officially ended for the GT. Built from 2005 until 2006 model years, the first customer deliveries began in August 2004. All told, just 4,038 examples were built. Power, of course, came from a 5.4-liter supercharged V8 with a total of 550 horsepower and 500 lb-ft of torque. And yes, a six-speed manual was the sole gearbox.

0-60 mph happened in a blazing 3.5 seconds and top speed is 205 mph. To mark the occasion, CrankandPiston put together this cool video, with a little voice over assistance from the late Steve Jobs.
