The 2017 Audi A6. A fine German luxury performance sedan in every way possible, and yet we have a problem with it. Honestly, we kind of have a problem with all Audi sedans. How come? They all look way too much alike. This likely isn't the first time you've read something that criticizes Audi's Russian doll design mentality. Compare the A8, A6, and A4 and, heck, even the A3 sedan. They are the Russian Matryoshka dolls of car design. And we think that needs to change.

We recently checked out the 2017 A6 3.0T competition Quattro and, exterior design aside, were nothing but impressed. Power comes from an excellent 3.0-liter supercharged V6 with 340 hp and 325 lb-ft of torque. Power is sent to all four wheels through an eight-speed automatic.

With its Black Metallic exterior paint combined with an all-black interior with leather upholstery, the A6 competition Quattro had something of a stealth-like feel. Those big 20-inch, 5 double-spoke titanium wheels and LED headlights further add to that badass appearance. So, as a standalone model, yes, we really like the A6's design. But when you factor in its sedan siblings, it loses something, and that's really a shame because there's so much to like here. Audi is finally beginning to take more design chances and we hope that'll carry on with the eventual next generation A6. But for now, the 2017 A6 soldiers on with style.
