Could this car get any better?
Because it was such a smash hit last year, Dodge has wisely brought back the "Shaker" hood option for the 2015 Challenger. Celebrating 45 years of the "cold-air grabbing" Shaker, Dodge has expanded the functional cold-air induction hood scoop option to two Hemi V8 engines and three performance packed models. Translation: a total of three Challenger trim levels now offer a Shaker hood option. The so-called "King of Shakers" is the Challenger 392 Hemi Scat Pack, which offers a total of 485 hp along with other Dodge heritage styling cues.
There's also the Challenger R/T Shaker and R/T Plus Shaker, both powered by the 5.7-liter Hemi V8 with up to 375 hp and 410 lb-ft of torque. There's also an optional Super Track Pak that includes a 0.5-inch lowered suspension, high-performance Bilstein shock absorbers, high-performance brakes, and three-mode electronic stability control. "After selling out last year's Shaker model production in just four days, our hardcore Challenger customers demanded we bring back the Shaker – plus offer more power and more performance," stated Dodge President and CEO Tim Kuniskis. And just to clarify, the Shaker hood option isn't available for the top-end Challenger SRT Hellcat. That Challenger is already bonkers enough.
