Kia will be unveiling at this year's Shanghai Motor Show the sedan version of their upcoming Rio hatchback that will be exclusive to the Chinese market. As of now, there are no plans to bring the K2 to either Europe or North America, as Kia claims that it was designed and tuned specifically to Chinese tastes, which still prefers traditional sedans over hatchbacks. Kia says it has the longest wheelbase and largest trunk space in its class.
Styling is clearly taken from the new Optima, which is certainly not a bad thing. It will be powered by either a 1.4 or 1.6-liter Gamma gasoline engine that's mated to either a manual or automatic transmission. It will be built at the automaker's Dongfeng Yueda factory in China beginning this June.
