Shanghai 2011: Citroen DS5 Revealed

2011 Shanghai Auto Show

French automaker Citroen has just unveiled their new DS5 five-door hatchback at the Shanghai Motor Show. We can tell from the pictures there's a lot of styling influence from the DS3 such as the front end and curvy rear flanks. Essentially a crossover, the DS5 has seating for five along with a driver-oriented dash layout that includes a head-up display. This is the first Citroen model to feature PSA's (PSA Peugeot Citroen) Hybrid4 technology.

This setup combines a 163 hp 2.0-liter HDi engine to drive the front wheels and a 37 hp electric motor to turn the rear axle. This results in a front, rear, or four-wheel drive vehicle that can also run on electric power alone. Final pricing has not been announced.
