Shanghai 2011: MG Presents MG5 Prototype

MG was present at the Shanghai Motor Show where it unveiled the MG5, a prototype that is the precursor to the anticipated C-segment hatchback in store for the automaker. The prototype MG5 uses the same platform as the MG6, including the same gasoline engines with displacements ranging from 1.3- to 1.8-liters and a 1.9-liter diesel. The good news is that for 2014 there's already a new range of engines.

The new engine range include1.0- and 1.5-liter turbo engines as a result of a partnership with General Motors. This new model is expected to be reserved for Asian markets, with a debut as early as 2013.
