Shelby Builds GT500 Super Snake Need For Speed Edition

Auction

Electronic Arts and Shelby are working on a special one-off to promote Need For Speed: The Run.

Electronic Arts is working overtime to drum up hype for the upcoming Need For Speed: The Run, due out November 15th. They recently announced that they would be giving away a 2012 Porsche 911 Carrera S as part of a promo, and now word is that there will be a second car being used for promotion. Shelby will be making a special one-off GT500 Super Snake Need For Speed Edition, which will be auctioned off to help the Carroll Shelby Foundation.

The car will have a 5.4-liter supercharged V8, putting out 750 horsepower. It will have a Wimbledon White paint scheme and two-tone interior, as well as special badging (this is a Shelby, after all). The car will also be featured on the game cover, and be a selectable car in the game itself. It seems as though EA will be using the car for promotional purposes for some time, as the auction won't be until late 2012. A similar car will cost you about $83,000 from Shelby. Expect this one to go for a bit more than that.
