Only 24 will be made.
Singer Vehicle Design is world-renowned for its classic Porsche 911 restomods, but the company recently expanded its automotive presence by partnering with Tom Brady and Hertz on a Porsche 963 Le Mans hypercar entry, and now it's unveiled a wristwatch to match. It's called the Endurance Edition and is based on the Track 1 series of chronographs offered by the outfit.
Finished in the same gold, red, and white as the team's Porsche 963's livery, this limited-edition timepiece looks marvelous, and to ram home the link to endurance racing, just 24 examples will be made. In addition, the Track 1's award-winning central chronograph movement now enables a dedicated 24-hour central counter.
Where expensive Porsches are, expensive watches are not far behind. This one hopes to stand out with a golden anodized titanium case and two rotating ceramic discs showing the time of day in Singer Racing White. Within these outer rings, Singer Racing Red highlights the rehaut (that's the flange, or inner bezel ring of the watch that surrounds the dial).
With 477 parts and 67 jewels, it's a stunning piece of design that looks both modern and classical. Singer's hypercar entry will be one of the best-looking on the grid, and its drivers will have some of the prettiest watches too. We're glad Hertz uses gold as its signature color and not hot pink.
The Porsche 963 that inspired this watch is powered by a 4.6-liter twin-turbo V8 based on the flat-plane crank unit from the Porsche 918 Spyder, and Porsche claims an output of 680 horsepower. The German automaker has not been having the endurance racing success it hoped for in the 2023 season, but all the teams involved in the Hypercar class of the World Endurance Championship this year have had to adapt to all-new cars and rules.
Hopefully, the 963 comes good soon, or the gold on this watch will celebrate no more than 100 years of the 24 Hours of Le Mans.
As for pricing, you're looking at 70,000 CHF for the Track 1 - Endurance Edition, which translates to almost $78,000 at the time of writing. Yikes.
