When September rolls around, the theaters will be rocked by another racing flick.
NASCAR has “Days of Thunder”, Indy has “Driven”, Sportscar racing has “Le Mans”, and F1 will soon have Ron Howard’s “Rush” to join the "Grand Prix". But drag racing warrants a movie of its own, and that’s just what it’s about to get. The movie-in-the-making is called “Snake and Mongoose” and profiles the rivalry between Don “The Snake” Prudhomme and Tom “The Mongoose” McEwen. The movie is about more than those two men – it’s about how sponsorship changed racing forever.
The film stars Jesse Williams, Richard Blake and Noah Wiley, among others, and was co-written and directed by Wayne Holloway. It is set to hit theaters on September 6 – two weeks before “Rush” premieres. If you can’t wait that long, check out the trailer below.
