Calling all old school Japanese anime and classic Corvette fans: Your dream car may have just popped up on eBay. With a current bid, as of writing, of just over $35,000, this 1981 Chevrolet Corvette C3 has been turned into a Speed Racer Mach 5 replica. Obviously the replica doesn't come equipped with the cartoon Mach 5's abilities, but the seller claims that only two like it exist. They own both of them and even hand sculpted from scratch the fiber glass bodywork.

The Corvette's structure itself hasn't been altered and the L-81 350 V8 has 85,000 original miles on the clock. The red leather interior is also factory original. The only modifications include an updated free flow exhaust, two chamber mufflers, and chrome exhaust extensions – all done to enhance sound. An Edelbrock carb was also added and the ignition system was replaced as well as the rear calipers and pads. This Mach 5 replica is fully street legal and without question will turn heads. Some may laugh while others will wish they were as cool as its driver.
