Someone Dumped A Ford Coyote V8 In A Porsche Cayman And It Is Awesome

Tuning / Comments

Purists will hate his, but in the search for more power, anything goes, even a Ford Coyote V8 in a Porsche.

Motor swaps can make people smile or cringe, but if the outcome is a lot more horsepower, than it should be smiles all the way. Some purists aren't into the whole transplant thing or don't mind as long as the new lump comes from the same manufacturer, but others don't care in the slightest. This Porsche Cayman clearly falls into the latter. We think the Porsche engine died and was too costly to replace, so a Mustang's 5.0 Coyote V8 was dropped in. Either way, we like it.

On the same dyno a stock Cayman reportedly made 257-hp and 218 lb-ft on the rears, which is not bad, but after the transplant this one now screams at 428-hp and 364 lb-ft at the rubber. More than a 718 Cayman. A worthy swap indeed.
