A few years ago a Florida man by the name of Emilio Cirelli tried to trade a private island for a Ferrari Enzo. That obviously didn't work so well because Mr. Cirelli is back in the news as he's trying to trade his island for a Porsche 918 Spyder. The ad is currently live on RacingJunk, but TeamSpeed wanted to know a bit more about the man behind it, so they gave him a call. As it turns out the guy is a lifelong gearhead who wants a 918 partially for its practical aspects.

N/A

Cirelli already owns a 911 Turbo S and according to his research the 918 "is more practical" than the other two members of the hypercar holy trinity, the Ferrari LaFerrari and McLaren P1. "I believe there would be less maintenance, and it's more drivable. It's more of a car you could use daily. The others, after 5,000 miles you have to bring them in and have a $30,000 service," he told TeamSpeed. The island's owner doesn't really want to trade his floating land for anything else, although he would consider a LaFerrari or P1. Would he maybe also go for an Enzo? When it comes to the island itself the total area is three acres and it sits ten miles south of Daytona Beach, Florida. It is ready for development although there are no structures on it at the moment.

Last time we saw this island its value was pegged at $1.2 million, but now it's being listed at $1 million even. Savvy investors would be wise to wait a few years for the island's value to drop even lower. Maybe by then you could get it for a rare sports car and not a hypercar.
