Ferrari is a sports car manufacturer that has survived some of the harshest market conditions and continued to succeed. As the automotive world transitions into electrification, it continues to push forward with thrilling and innovative products. The Ferrari 296 GTB is an example of its willingness to adapt and innovate by being the brand's first-ever official V6-powered car with hybrid electric assistance.

Set to be added to the range in due time is the Purosange which is set to be Ferrari's first-ever crossover product. Although so much change is happening to the iconic brand, it will always be a company that bears a rich history and as a result, has garnered many die-hard fans and enthusiasts. Some of these people are willing to spend large amounts of money to show their dedication to the Prancing Horse community. The latest example of this is the auction of a book with a confirmed winning bid of an astonishing £30,250, or around $39,921 at current rates.

The book is not just your standard historical referencing text but rather forms part of an enthusiast-inspired art piece that has been put together by the experts at Taschen - one of the world's most notable publishers for aspirational reference books covering a variety of subjects.

According to the listing on Collecting Cars, the 514-page book detailing the history of Ferrari with never-before-seen content from the company's archives is mated to an eye-catching sculpture formed with parts that are inspired by Ferrari's components. Industrial designer Marc Newson was commissioned to create the bespoke case using aluminum to replicate the cylinder heads and valve covers of the 250 Testa Rossa. These covers open outwards to reveal the prestigious book.

250 of these Art Edition sculptures were constructed. The one auctioned here is the 236th of the group and features a case that is placed atop a hand-bent and TIG-welded chrome-plated steel stand. This represents a set of polished exhaust manifolds one would find on a V12-powered Ferrari. The art piece measures 21 inches long, 22 inches wide, and 43 inches tall.

Adding a special element to the book itself are the personal signatures of Sergio Marchionne, John Elkann, and Piero Ferrari. Maintaining this piece's authenticity is the inclusion of the original delivery crate that ensures safe storage and transportation and a special prelude book. A set of white gloves is also provided in the package so that you don't damage the pages as you browse through its contents.
