With manic projects like the 542 horsepower Range Rover Sport SVR and the mouthwatering Jaguar F-Type Project 7 already underway, Jaguar Land Rover's Special Operations Division is turning its attention to one of the firm's best established models – the LR Defender. With 2015 marking the final year of the Defender in its current form, the division is planning a special farewell, with limited edition models marking the SUV's various achievements and triumphs – including the Camel Trophy and Paris-Dakar.

In other areas, the SVR badge will be added to various Jaguar and Land Rover models, with the division working to "define the DNA" of the brand to differentiate it from the current R and R-S branded vehicles. There is also talk of a search for a mysterious "Project 8". Stay tuned for more details on the special edition Defenders and on the current model's replacement.
