We'll have to wait a few more months until the 2012 Audi RS5 Cabrio debuts at the Geneva Motor Show.
Our always hard working spy photographers have just sent us the first pictures of the upcoming Cabrio version of the Audi RS5. Spotted testing close to the Nurburgring, the test mule has a complete RS5 front end featuring the larger front spoiler, brakes, and wider fenders. Out back, however, the prototype still has the S5 design, meaning there are narrower front fenders and S-Type quad exhaust pipes.
Like its Coupe sibling, the upcoming Cabrio will be powered by a 4.2-liter V8 with 450hp and 317lb-ft of torque. It's mated to a seven-speed S-Tronic dual clutch transmission. The Coupe can go from 0 to 60mph in about 4.5 seconds and has an electronically limited top speed of 174mph. The engine is hand-built at the automaker's plant in Gyor, Hungary. Other features will include standard Quattro all-wheel drive and 19-inch wheels. The RS5 Cabrio will make its official debut this March at the 2012 Geneva Motor Show. Photos: CarPix
