Spied: 2012 BMW 1-Series 5-Door

Here are a few recently shot pictures of the new BMW 1-Series undergoing final testing at the Nurburgring before its scheduled debut sometime later this year. As you can tell from the prototype caught testing in these photos, there's much less camouflage on the car, which gives us a clearer idea of its styling. It looks more upright than the current model, as it bears a slight resemblance to the X1. Rear visibility is also said to improve.

The new 1-Series will also be larger than the outgoing model, with BMW preparing for their new line-up of entry-level cars slated below the 1-Series. No official launch date has been announced, but we're predicting it will debut at the Frankfurt Auto Show this September.
