Mercedes is continuing testing of their next generation GL-Class, which is due out sometime in 2012. The mule pictured here has lighter camouflage that allows us to see the taillights and a different front design. LED daytime running lights and an overall design makeover make the upcoming GL-Class nearly identical to the new M-Class in terms of styling language. Some visible features on the GL-Class will be the shape of the rear bumper and a more aggressive look overall.

The interior layout of three rows with seven seats will remain untouched to carry on the same tradition in the GL family. The GL-Class will directly rival the BMW X5 and Audi Q7. No word yet as to when the upcoming 2012 GL-Class with make its official public debut.
