Spied: 2013 Kia Sorento Facelift

Kia is preparing to take the Sorento to another level with some familiar German competitors in mind.

Our spy photographers have just captured the very first photos of the upcoming Kia Sorento mid-life facelift. We can easily spot the LED day driving lights in the upper part of the redesigned headlights as well as the new front bumper. This will be a part of Kia's new corporate look with the Sorento set to share the similar styling seen on the new Kia Cee'd. The problem for Kia designers is that it's always more difficult to integrate a whole new look with a facelift than with a totally new model.

With the amount of camouflage at the back we can expect some changes there as well such as the new rear lights and bumper. Interestingly, this car was testing together with an Audi Q5 and Mercedes-Benz GLK, so it might be that Kia is upgrading the interior as well and trying to aim at these "upper-class" competitors. We'll know in just a few months' time whether Kia has managed to build something that can compete with the big boys, and German ones at that.
