Our intrepid spy photographers have just captured the Mercedes-Benz SL cruising around public streets sporting just a bit of camouflage. These are the clearest pictures yet of the SL, which features an aluminum and leather interior similar to that of the Mercedes AMG SLS supercar. The Mercedes SL seen in these photos has a new color and features a European Union-approved grille. The new grilles must be more upright and vertical, with pedestrian protection in mind.

Power is expected to come in the form of several powerplants. We could see anything from a 3.5-liter V6 engine to a 4.6-liter twin turbocharged V8. An AMG version is also expected for those who love Merc and want a coupe with serious performance. Sans those sexy rims (we hope), the new Mercedes-Benz SL could arrive next year. Photos: CarPix
