Mercedes-Benz has long been rumored to have plans to create a seriously raw version of the SLS AMG. The gullwing supercar has been spotted looking blacked-out and amazing while performing some testing on the Nurburgring. The SLS AMG Black Series will run a 6.2-liter V8 engine (mated to a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission) that has been engineered for top performance, meaning the wicked coupe will be able to hit a blistering 208mph.

Output has been said to be much greater than the standard's 563hp and 470lb-ft of torque, coming in at around 600hp and 500lb-ft of torque. The improvement in power comes in part from a larger air manifold, re-profiled camshafts and a high compression ratio. The aforementioned tranny will help the latest Black Series handle all that added torque. Performance has been buoyed by the addition of an aero package and a reduction of roughly 105lbs. The impressive coupe improves its performance numbers over its predecessor quite well.

Previously able to hit 62mph from rest in 3.8 seconds and hit a top speed of 197mph, the new SLS AMG Black Series can run 0-62mph in only 3.5 seconds and hit a top speed of 208mph. The Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG Black Series will cost over 50 percent more than the base's £168,395 price tag.
