These are the first set of spy shots of the upcoming Audi R8 GT Spyder. Luckily enough, the car was caught completely undisguised. While at first it may be mistaken for the standard R8 Spyder, Audi has gone ahead and further enhanced its appearance. It features the familiar GT body kit with 19-inch alloy wheels and a large rear spoiler. Power comes from the same engine as the GT coupe: a 5.2-liter V10 that produces 553hp and 398 lb-ft of torque.

It will be able to go from 0 to 62 mph in about 3.8 seconds and top speed will be around 193 mph. Production will no doubt be extremely limited (there's a rumor that just 333 units will be built) and it will have its world debut at the 2011 Frankfurt Motor Show this September.
