Some cars are at this year's Frankfurt Auto Show, while many other upcoming vehicles are not. Today we have the very first spy photos of the new Audi RS4 as it undergoes some hot laps on the Nurburgring. With its big air intakes up front, wider fenders and the massive oval exhaust pipes, this new sport sedan really stands out, even in the camouflage. We expect power to come from the same 4.2 liter V8 delivering some 450hp that's also found in the RS5.

However, there's a chance that Audi may decide to play the downsizing game that BMW is currently partaking in and end up giving the RS4 a twin-turbo V6 delivering roughly the same power output. This prototype also shows the lights and grille from the upcoming facelift that will appear across the A4/S4 range. No official launch date has been announced.
