Unless you live in Australia, you'd most likely not care too much about that country's long-selling small SUV. However, in accordance with the automaker's One Ford global philosophy, don't be surprised if we're also seeing elements of the next generation Escape. Just last week there were some teased digital illustrations of the Territory. Judging from these pictures, it appears the Territory has taken a lot of styling cues from the new Explorer, especially the rear taillights.
Ford has claimed the new Territory will receive LED daytime running lights, but the prototype in these photos doesn't have them. More than likely, it's a base model. An engine option has been confirmed to be a 2.7-liter turbo diesel V6, but an EcoBoost will also probably be available along with a hybrid variant. The new Escape won't be debuting for several more months, but judging from the new Territory, it's clear where Ford is heading in terms of design. Photos courtesy of CarAdvice.com.au
