Last month we reported that BMW has decided to call its new eco sub-brand "i", and that we can expect to see it launched in 2013. The lineup for the "i" will include two models, the i3 Megacity and the i8 Vision EfficientDynamics. It is the latter that has been recently spotted doing some cold weather testing in Sweden. The i8 will be featuring an aluminum chassis and a carbon-fiber reinforced plastic passenger cell.
Since this is slated to be a sports car that's ecologically friendly, the 2+2 seater will be powered by an innovative hybrid system. This hybrid system will include a 1.5-liter three-cylinder diesel engine and two electric motors that have a combined output of 328-horsepower. Photos courtesy of gmotors.co.uk.
