These are the first pictures ever captured of the new, lighter and more powerful Ferrari GT.
Even though the temperature was close to 68 degrees Fahrenheit, this all-new Ferrari GT prototype was already wearing its winter dress. It's for a good reason, since the successor to the Ferrari 599 GTB wants to keep its design a secret for several more months. We are proud to show you the very first photos of the new Ferrari GT, codenamed F152. There is still no official name for the car, but the name F620 has been rumored several times.
This new GT will retain the front engine arrangement and will use a version of the 6.3-liter V12 engine, which should put out more than 700hp. This will make it more powerful than both the FF and the 599 GTO. More importantly to the Italian automaker is that it will be more powerful than the Lamborghini Aventador. Power will be delivered to the rear wheels via a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission with a F1 style electronic differential. The design will be an evolution of the current 599 with some design cues taken from both the 458 Italia and the FF. The heavy use of aluminum parts will make the new car lighter than the current 599.
The light weight combined with the mightier engine will make the new Ferrari GT one powerful rocket. The new Ferrari GT is expected to be unveiled at the Geneva Motor Show in March 2012 and will then go on sale in late 2012.
