Our spy shooters are in the European Alps taking some photos of a new Jaguar. The convertible seen here is the British automaker's test mule. While the folks at Jaguar are currently parading around their C-X16 concept at the Frankfurt International Auto Show, a small team has been assembled to test their new model's brakes and cooling system. The mule seen here is obviously a cut up Jaguar XK body, however the tentatively titled XE convertible could end up looking more like the concept currently on display in Germany.

The XE will first arrive as roadster. A year after its launch, a coupe version should follow. A GT3 version of the coupe could also arrive later on down the road. The two-seater sports car will price between the Porsche Boxster/Cayman and the 911. The Jaguar XE should be powered by an aluminum 3.0-liter V6 engine that can put out around 380hp. Stay tuned for more details on the Jaguar XE as they are released. Photos: CarPix.
