You may remember that a little while ago we wrote a little something about the Kia Picato concept. Well, now there are the spy shots of the next-generation Picanto that's set to go on sale in late spring 2011. As seen in the pictures, the Picanto is disguised, but it's clear to see that the vehicle will take plenty of cues from the styling sketches we've already seen. From what's visible, it looks very similar to the chrome model of the Picanto display at the 2010 Bologna Motor Show.

What's new is that the Picant's headlamps are higher up and cut back. The crease, which we see sitting high up close to the window line in the styling ketches, appear to have made it to the production version, stretching the length of the car all the way from above the front wheel arch. A difference from the sketch is that the Picanto's wheels are a lot smaller and it's also adopted a more upright stance. Kia is hoping that it will boost sales in Europe, and they are also planning on a new Rio supermini to follow later in the year. Details on pricing are still unclear.
