At its unveiling at the 2013 New York Auto Show, SRT announced that only 33 examples of the Track Attack version of the SRT Viper would be made. Now, as the hardcore track machine is set to make its way to dealerships across the country, SRT has confirmed a 159-strong production run. 93 cars will be available in TA Orange, 33 in Venom Black and 33 in Bright White. SRT has also revealed some more info on the Time Attack Viper.

As the lightest Viper in the lineup, the 1,538-kg TA Special Edition Package boasts a 50/50 weight distribution and the largest contact patch of any production car in the world. Various upgrades include a race-tuned suspension, a carbon-fiber X-brace, and Brembo brakes that sit behind lightweight 'Sidewinder II' alloys. An aero package, consisting of carbon-fiber front splitters and a rear spoiler, results in 700 percent more downforce at 150 mph, while other enhancements include a more aggressive hood with extra cooling vents, and an interior with carbon-shelled Sabelt racing seats accommodating three- or six-point harnesses.

The same 8.4-liter V10, rated at 640 hp and 600 lb-ft of torque, comes mated to a manual gearbox as standard. Performance specs have yet to be detailed but an improvement on the Viper's 3.5-second 0-60 mph time and 200 mph top speed is expected. Production of the Viper TA has already started in Detroit with deliveries to begin later this year.
