SRT Viper Wins First Race of the Millennium

Motorsport

It’s taken over a year, but the SRT Viper has finally taken the checkered flag.

A year after returning to the American Le Mans Series (ALMS), the SRT Viper has claimed its first motorsports victory since 2000 at Road America. Competing in the GT Class, the number 91 Viper GTS-R took the checked flag ahead of number 93 that started in pole position and just 0.36 seconds ahead of a Chevy Corvette C6 ZR1. Winning driver Dominik Farnbacher, partnered by Marc Goossens, said "It’s unbelievable, the first win for the Viper in quite a while. It was a nail biter. I think we made it to the finish line with the last drop of fuel."
