SSC Tuatara Conquers the 2011 Concours d’Elegance

Fresh, white and fast: The SSC Tuatara debuts at Pebble Beach.

Shelby SuperCars brought their next generation supercar to the 2011 Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance and it effectively stole the show. Based out of Washington, SSC decided that a North American debut in Monterey was fitting for the new fastest-production-car-in-the-world. The 275mph Tuatara putted around the Pebble Beach green and wowed the crowd. The Tuatara arrived fresh off of its international debut in Shanghai and didn't carry a bit of jetlag.

The clean, white car was designed by Jason Castriota of Ferrari P4/P5 notoriety and features a carbon fiber sub-frame chassis. SSC's new supercar sits on one-piece carbon fiber wheels to emphasize its light weight engineering. It is equipped with a twin-turbo 7.0-liter V8 that can blast out 1,350hp. Check out the Tuatara as onlookers ogle the newest fastest production car in the world.
