Stage Your Own Fury Road With This Mad Max Auction

You'll have to figure out how to certify War Pig in your township.

Movie car sales are usually a letdown. If you've ever stood next to the original Batmobile or Munster Koach, they're a lot of flash, but without a lot of substance. Some of them barely move on their own. But this auction is different. In fact, we think if you buy something here, you'll probably get kicked out of your neighborhood, at least if you drive it.

Yes, the cars from Mad Max: Fury Road are up for auction out of Australia, so plan that transport fee when making your bid. All of the big names are represented including the War Rig, the Gigahorse, underpinned by a Cadillac W16 engine, the Pole Car (a Pontiac Surfari with a 20-foot pole counterweight), and of course Max's new car, the Razor Cola. We haven't decided if it's better than the old Ford Interceptor.

"These vehicles are survivors of the apocalypse that was the filming of Fury Road. Blown, super-turbo charged and armed to the teeth with weaponry and War Boys, the machines that outran the end of civilization have been unearthed in the greatest barn-find ever recorded," reads the description at the Lloyds Online auction house.

"Nitrous, noxious, and no-nonsense harbingers of hell, marking man's uncanny ability to wring beauty even from that designed for death and destruction, art from power, meaning from machine."

The auction takes place on September 26 at 7 pm Australian Eastern Standard Time, which converts to 5 am Eastern Time. There are 13 lots in the bunch, but the group will feature as part of one of Australia's biggest-ever auction events. There are no estimates, and we honestly have no idea how much these beasts might go for.

If we had unlimited space, we'd go for the Doof Wagon, that's the one with a ton of speakers made of air conditioning ducting and a cow catcher/body scooper in the front, based on a repurposed 8x8 M.A.N. missile carrier. You could hook your iPhone to it and drown out the neighbor's leaf blower, or reinstall the missiles and reign destruction from on high. We also love that W16, it's certainly more fun even the new Cadillac CT5-V Blackwing.
