Up until now, performance figures for the all-new 2014 Corvette Stingray were nothing but estimates, although we knew they were fairly accurate. Today, however, Chevrolet has released official performance specs for the new Vette equipped with the Z51 Performance Package. Taking the fight directly to the likes of the Porsche 911 Carrera S, the Stingray Z51 goes from 0-60 mph in just 3.8 seconds, a quarter-mile time of 12 seconds and 60-0 braking in 107 feet.

Specs for the base Stingray weren't released, but the Z51 Package is only a $2,800 extra. Considering the car has a base price of $51,995, that extra bit of dough gets you the aforementioned performance numbers along with an electronic limited-slip differential, dry-sump oiling system, an aero package, integral brake and differential and transmission cooling. The test car discussed here also had Magnetic Ride Control, a $1,795 optional extra. All told, the Corvette Stingray Z51 carries a price of a $56,590. Consider us impressed, very impressed.
