FCA is kicking off holiday season early.
September was not a great month for car brands in general. Even Subaru suffered when its monthly sales streak ended after posting increases for 93 consecutive months. That means a lot of brands are seeking to make up sales for the September slump. For the first time in a long while, we've seen the return of zero percent financing and some great deals over Independence Day weekend. Now, with Thanksgiving approaching at the end of the month, we can look forward to Black Friday deals. FCA isn't waiting for Black Friday to deliver some strong promotions, though.
Cars Direct got hold of a copy of a bulletin sent to dealers regarding an Employee Pricing promo being marketed as "Employee Pricing Plus." According to the announcement, an employee discount is 5% less than the dealer invoice price plus a $200 program fee. Take a 2019 Dodge Durango R/T with an MSRP of $44,245, as an example. Doing the math, the employee discount works out at $3,611 off the price. According to the source, the discount can then be used in conjunction with existing rebates. Depending on the area, up to $4,600 in rebates are available on the Durango. That adds up to $8,211 off a new car.
Similarly, it looks like anywhere up to $10,000 savings can be made on a loaded-up Ram 1500. However, there is, of course, a catch. Not all FCA built vehicles are eligible, and the offer can't be crossed with the still-running "$10 per horsepower" deal on the Dodge Challenger, which can net $7,970 off of a Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat. The big selling Jeeps, the Wrangler and Gladiator aren't eligible; neither is the Grand Cherokee SRT or Trackhawk. However, the standard Renegade, Compass, Cherokee, and Grand Cherokee are.
The Dodge Grand Caravan and Durango are also eligible, including the Durango SRT. You can also look at the gasoline-powered Chrysler Pacifica and Ram's 1500 Classic, 1500 (redesign), as well as the 2500 and 3500. There's no rush either; the offers are set to end December 2.
