It's been a tough few years for many businesses that have struggled to stay afloat during the relentless recessions that have swept the globe. But for the British luxury car manufacturer, 2011 was an exceptional year thanks in part to the limited edition One-77 supercar. Recently announced full year results show that revenue increased by 7 percent to £506.8 million, the highest since 2008, and adjusted earnings before interest, depreciation and amortization (EBITDA) was £76.2 million.

That's how much the marque made by selling 4,200 units, including the near $2m One-77 supercar. Dr Ulrich Bez, Chief Executive Officer, Aston Martin, said: "Our 2011 results demonstrate the energy, passion and ongoing resilience of Aston Martin - a truly unique, independent manufacturer. We are on track with our expansion plans around the world, especially in China, and are investing in new models. "The Aston Martin brand is stronger than ever. This is demonstrated by intense interest in our new V12 Zagato, recently shown at the Geneva Motor Show, and our £1.2m One-77 supercar - all 77 of which are now sold."
