Subaru BRZ takes on Japan's Super GT

Motorsport / Comments

Subaru is planning on taking their new BRZ into the 2012 Super GT Series in Japan.

Subaru has just announced that they will be entering the 2012 Super GT Series in Japan. The new BRZ sports car is set to join in the GT300 class. The Japanese automaker believes that the new BRZ will compete and "meet the expectations of Subaru fans," building on the past success of their last entrant into the Far Eastern racing circuit with the Legacy B4 GT300. We know that due to the class, it will have a 2.0-liter horizontally-opposed 4-cylinder engine with a limited output of 300hp.

The Subaru Tecnica International team has only released a sketch of their BRZ racer, and we are just as excited for the launch of their production BRZ car as we are for the new racing-spec model.
