Judging by CarBuzz readers' comments on our WRX STI review not long ago, we were excited to get this piece of information. Already one of our favorite street legal racers, Subaru is set to show off what it's calling their fastest STI at this year's SEMA. The reason? This particular tuned-up STI driven by Tommi Makinen set a record around the Nurburging in just 7 minutes and 55 seconds.

The other dare devil STI to be displayed was driven by Travis Pastrana when he made a record setting jump over the Long Beach Harbor on December 31st, 2009. In case that's not enough, the Subaru stand will also include the "Get More G's" WRX STI, built by Subaru Performance Tuning. And there's more... Set to cause more foaming of the mouth will be a pair of custom STIs from Kicker Audio and K&N Performance, along with the Subiefest "Best of Show" winner: a 2006 STI owned by tuner Jamarri Whiteside.

The automaker is celebrating a record year for Subaru Genuine Parts and SPT accessory sales, hence all of the wicked STIs in one place. Stay tuned for all of our SEMA coverage beginning later this week.
